I got 2019 up and running with parkrun this morning, I haven't committed to any races yet but hope to get a couple of 10k in over the Spring, the local clubs in Moray do a series every year so hope to be fit enough to get the racing shoes on.

And well done to Westmoors - starting the year with a PB and an award is a fantastic start! bunting

I did my traditional NYD double of Cardiff and Barry Island parkruns. There were a few more options for a second parkrun this year, but as Mr Jenny (along with a lot of our club mates) was doing the NYD swim at Barry, we were committed to going there. 805 at Cardiff, and 616 at Barry, the latter being a massive course record.

So Jenny and other parkrunners is it Just me or has it gone truly mad over Christmas and New Year. I ran on the 22nd and 29th and they were normal Saturdays.

It's up to the individual parkruns Gobi but more and more are doing special Xmas or NYD events. We did a double at Portobello and Vogrie today along with a crowd of others

I think the mild weather had a lot to do with increased numbers Gobi, there were a few complete newbies at Grovelands today, possibly similar situation at other parkruns?

Ian - I'm an early exponent of parkrun and Christmas/nyd/boxing day and even triples it is more an observation on numbers suddenly going mental. In the past we ran these and the quick and the daft turned up whereas this year it seems to have moved to a whole new level of obsession.
