No running for me today, I'm still tired and battered after yesterday's 17 miles with 11 at MP. or should that be or even ?
Doc, well against all odds it looks like I'm going to attempt the Abingdon marathon, so can you add me to the race list, please ---->?

Well done Bonners and Fenners!
My race yesterday was quite disappointing. I managed to achieve my absolute baseline goal of sub 1:45 (ran 1:44:32), but was over a minute slower than last year. I had hoped sub 1:43, ideally close to 1:42 was possible, but my legs felt heavy from the start, and I totally ran out of steam in the last 4 miles. Mr J knocked well over two minutes off his PB though. Unfortunately have read today that two young men died after crossing the finish line, which puts my disappointment with my race into perspective.

Oh, and good luck for Abingdon Flatlander! You and StuH can have a mini-1500 thread meet up

Sorry it didn't go so well for you this year, jennyh, and as you say, such a sad finish for the race.
A lovely autumn day here in the East Mids, and a short run planned for later this afternoon. Otherwise, it is mainly boring stuff - we intend to get started in on some decluttering today, we have far too much accumulated junk in this house.
OH has had to pay a speeding fine (oops) - quite a few pairs of average speed cameras have appeared locally, which seems to be a new thing, and it's very easy to get caught out by them. He is driving very, very legally at the moment!

Nice running Jen - especially if the last couple of miles were difficult. No doubt your OH's pb is down to your inspiration.

Thanks JK and Jono - Mr J just popped home between meetings at client sites, and has called to tell me he has a London marathon place for next year!

morning all some fantastic running going on - fab partkrun time Gobi and a great marathon time from bonners - amongst other so sad to hear of the two people at Cardiff
I was pleased with my time at Chester - just a smidge under 4:30 and I managed to maintain pace pretty well which is pleasing as I really find it difficult after 20 miles
