The lawn was more important when the kids were young. Now it is more ornamental than functional.

I too have no lawn. My back yard suffices and a quick hose down makes it look lovely. We also have a back lane in proper Northern stylee. The kids learned to ride their bikes in it

I've always lived in a house with a lawn, as that is where I honed my silky Ronaldo-esque football skillz

I call our green bit outside a lawn but the OH says that is an exaggeration- its more a few blades of grass held together by moss and meadow flowers... it needs cutting, I have bought some more strimmer cab,e so can do edges this time - maybe tomorrow... I have swimmed and biked today - mild but windy - Ankle still sore but am able to run ok, but swimming is not so good... early and long run on Sunday - wondering how far I can go... good luck at Birmingham Mara Toks- I had hoped to do that but it was full by the time I looked...
