I've just got my driving licence back after more than two years without because of stroke damaging my vision. Now that I can get out in the car it feels much like having past the test and being left to get on with it. I'm quite nervous but getting used to it.
I'd hate to be poisoned by a banana, Mrs.Jigs. I love them.

Seriously Huntsman, within a few minutes of eating my banana I was bloated and racked with pain, it's not the first time it's happened but I don't think I ever pinpointed the cause.

Evening all I'm back at Kings Cross for the trip home.Virgin East Coast WiFi is pants too, never use it, so 2 hours and 47 minutes of iPlayer downloads to catch up on. The person who responds to their Twitter account is always good fun to pass the time though. Home by 9pm if it all goes to plan.

I passed my driving test back in 1983!!! A bit of mental arithmetic would suggest I've driven easily in excess of 0.5 million miles, maybe nearer 1 million (some years have been 40,000!)
In fact five cars:
Renault Laguna 2 x Ford Mondeo's Ford SMAX Toyota Avensis
I picked up with less than 100 miles and handed them back with 90-100,000 miles on the clock!

I'm an unemployed layabout, so have no commute at present. When we do go on trains, I always take my knitting with me. You have to watch what you do with the ball of yarn, though, or it can go skipping the length of the carriage to the amusement of everyone else.
