Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Nelly ... I've managed to keep the training pretty constant for the last month or so, so here's hoping :) especially as yesterdays intervals were about 2 mins quicker than in August. That probably means I've peaked too early ;)

Nothing wrong with having a few pairs of running shoes. I've been told that 14 is a bit excessive though, but it works for me.

I dont think I own 14 shoes, let alone pairs!

6.39m for me at lunchtime, nice and steady paced, still building following injury

14 is quite reasonable, no? ;-)

Here's how it works - 1. old white road shoes (900 miles), 2. newer boring trainers (500miles), 3. racing flats (200 grams, it does make the difference), 4. track spikes (rarely used, but still good for the odd Fetch mile, etc.), 5. Old Walshes (hill-running shoes) very worn down for training, 6. newer Walshes (for races only), 7. brand new Walshes (had some vouchers to spend, so they'll sit in the cupboard until the others fall apart (which has happened before), 8. old trail shoes, not used much these days, 9. newer trail shoes but now full of holes, 10. new trail shoes (default shoe choice), 11. Racing trail shoes (X-talons), 12. barefoot minimalist shoes (used with care), 13. bouncy saucony trail shoes (used in between running mostly), 14. indoor white trainers (badminton/treadmill, both of which are a rare thing)

I have to be really careful when there are good deals on shoes...

FF - Well I had great intentions of training hard during December, but my health was poor and TBH after October I've lost a lot of fitness.

so I shall end up trogging around 4 villages, but I'll use it to see how crap I am and build from there for the rest of the year. In fact I was thinking the other day how far I am away from being a good runner who threw himself up the Great Orme, following a PB in the Liverpool Marathon.

I'm also in for the Liverpool Half, I'm running it and accompanying a Fetchie round the course - Bigleggy - he's after a PB.

Think my 1st marathon will be windemere
