Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I hadn't thought of that Marky. I wish I had worn my trail shoes, but I was wearing an older pair of road trainers, so didn't mind getting them soaked and muddy. I had a job to undo the laces when I got home, as there were small pieces of ice stuck to them. I've stuffed them with newspaper to help them dry out.

Hope all are well, take care and stay safe

Newspaper stuffing is THE way to go with wet trainers HS ! Always done that but as newspapers become less read I wonder what we'll do. Newspaper had/ has numerous uses and are/were recyclable on various personal levels. Maybe we'll end up purchasing old printed matter in a similar way to how we now can purchase cardboard boxes since they became scarce. Except from Amazon!
Chilly 5k about my limit this morning.

Run the sum meant 9k on the treadmill today as too slippery for me outdoors. RFJ don't be so hard on yourself no need to do any hard miles.
well done on being ahead of your goals.

I remember many years ago Steve, being told that with the introduction of computers, and emails replacing fax machines, we would soon have paperless offices. What a joke that was.

Well done RFJ still keeping ahead of your targets.

Well done Lorraine running in the snow. Today was a rest day for me, and I walked very cautiously to the supermarket, as the pavements were icy, and I was afraid of falling.

Looby Loo, that was good going, 9k on the treadmill.

Take care everyone in these dangerous conditions.

hillstrider, the bl**dy virus has finally achieved something that decades of office "improvements" could not do - my employer has gone pretty much paperless (internally at least). It (a) removed access to the office printers & copiers (and therefore also the "Xerox subsidy" of personal copying and printing!) and (b) security concerns forbid home printing of corporate data! We've saved literally millions of sheets of A4 in the past 12 months.

We are required by law to send postal statements and policy docs to those who haven't asked for them by email!

I am using the free monthly advertising mags and junk flyers for pizzas when decorating (to protect the carpets!) and to stuff wet shoes.

That's excellent Marky, if more employers followed the same practice, it would greatly reduce the amount of paper being required, and consequently save the need for so many trees being felled.

MMM - we had bonkers contradictions when we were in school teaching. We weren't allowed to lend the students equipment (if they had forgotten their pen/calculator etc.) all lab equipment was kept in 'bubble' sets, but we were still expected to take in books and mark them overnight!
