Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Duo: glad you enjoyed your trip to Dubai and the pleasure of running in the warm rather than our winter weather. Covid is rough.

Looby loo: being a bit nosey but working under ground for 25 years? Mining?

Peter: admire the sea swim but not for me!

Run 7.5 miles in 63 mins yesterday and a steady 5k on the gym treadmill today. Just edged over 100 for Feb so the hundred per month is still on and one of the tricky / short months out of the way.

Ytd: 212.4

@PeterFay where do you swim? I have a beach at the end of my street 50m from home. It’s a city beach - but it’s still nice to take a dip, especially after a run.

Dubairunner You are putting up incredible numbers. Well done. Are you cashing in before the heat of summer arrives?

@Donnie1 I prefer a run in the morning. I am by no means a morning person, but I like the after run feeling and sitting on that feeling for the rest of the day.

I completed a half this morning in my quickest time for a while. And I am finally above the line for the first time this year and back in the land of the living!

That swim was at Inganess Bay a local sandy safe bay with a shipwreck about 150m out.
Island based on Orkney, we are blessed with many choices depending on which way the wind is blowing.

parkrun planned for today.

@Dubairunner - you're now setting up an unassailable lead!

Jack you hit the nail on the head, weather is good at the minute, will still run when it passes 40 degrees but won’t be pretty. Was the half a race?

Peter the mileage will slow when summer arrives, lows of mid 30s overnight and high 40s during the day.

I love a morning run but I struggled with getting up and out after Covid last August can’t wait to be back out nice and early!

Not had my heating checked since school really I just know I can’t hear as well in groups / noisy environments.

Apologies I knew it was Peter who got a new cooker not sure why I then got confused in my post.

Did a bit much on my feet yesterday mostly I think they type of walking rather than too much walking, we did the supermarket and I was pushing the trolley I should have stuck to walking with my crutch.

The sun was bright and the sea was blue Peter! I would've been blue in that water too!
Good 7.5 Donnie1 and hitting 100 /month.

Well done on doing a half JackFW...how long to the marathon you're signed up for?
Fabulous mileage overall Dubairunner. Such heat is unimaginable to us here in south Wales. A milder 1c when I did 5.1 miles this morning but still heavy frost on the fields.
Getting out early will be just right for you now that dark mornings are retreating gg and it'll be nicely bright when you're ready to run again.
Never had a hearing test but I hear ok! Be careful to stick to your own walk pace gg!

Sorry, I've been awol this week! I've had a nightmare week, started with writing off the car (which was actually the least stressful thing that happened), then my employer kicking up a fuss about my jury service and trying to get me to make up reasons not to do it. I feel incredibly stressed by it all, there was a suggestion (sadly not in writing) that I might discover I had an ill relative who I had primary care responsibility for!

Anyway - was supposed to be back in work until we are back in court, but I phoned in sick with anxiety as I was feeling nauseous. Didn't stop my employer repeatedly contacting me to pile on pressure. Grr! Think I am going to start job hunting again!

Was lovely to parkrun in the sun this morning (though chilly). My run was slower than I had hoped for, but my stress levels may account for that!

A lot of posts since my previous one, so I won't comment individually. Some good runs, treddies, swims, high mileage etc so far this year. Could there be a record mileage at the end of the year; probably on the 1,500 or even 2000 mileage table?

Very cold this morning, despite the bright sunshine (no fog that was forecast). We did the Wilverley Inclosure off road, hilly parkrun, and there were 235 runners. I was 147th, and 2nd MV75-80 of 4. My WAVA of 67.95% was higher than the 1st, so he must have been several years younger than me.
