Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Thanks FF, I think forgetting race shoes is more common than we think.

It's the boat race tomorrow, that's crept up on us😁

Yes, I met a Fetchie who had travelled to a race and had forgotten his shoes, luckily his son was with him and had an old pair he lent him. I had a good race, got a PB but he still beat me without his proper shoes on, he was fast.

Thanks for positive comments and encouragement all! Longest run of the year this morning, 7.4 but it wasn't very easy, in fact a bit of a slog. I blame my shoes!! Think I was tired as my wife was up at 2.30am to travel to the race start of a (silly!!) 40 mile off road thing. I didn't sleep after that and it was 0c when I jogged out at 6.30.
Forgetting shoes ...a nightmare! Almost as bad was when a group of four of us arrived at a road race start just five minutes before the gun! The days when it was near enough only fairy quick club runners. No chip times just a couple of blokes with a big stopwatch and a clipboard 😂
Hope all goes well post covid FF. When's the marathon?

Not until June Steve but I can almost right April off as I'm away from a week tomorrow for 12 days and then 4 days in the last week too for my 30th wedding anniversary.

I went out for a steady run this morning to see how I got on. Tbh I enjoyed the quiet and stillness of the morning and did 5.5 miles. I tested when I returned home and I'm still positive :-( I feel ok though. I shall see how I feel as the day goes on.

Gutted for you FF hope the symptoms stay mild and the training you’ve done is still in your legs be careful running doesn’t make you worse.

Great running scottdog

Sorry you had a tough run Steve45. If the trainers aren’t suiting you could advertise them on here? Hope your wife has a great run.

I took a pair of trainers back to the shop once with 47 miles on them because they didn't suit me. They gave me a large discount towards a new pair. I suppose that's because I used a running shop to buy them from and not online or a large outlet store.
