Thanks Steve. I've worn a cap whilst running in the summer for quite a few years. This is to protect my bald head from the sun 🌞 Oh yes, I remember Dave Wattle. You have an amazing memory.

Thanks for advising that you had no after effects from your RSV jab, as I'm intending to do the local parkrun tomorrow.

Well done for your 3.4 miles this morning on a hilly road circuit in the dark. Good luck with the physio.

I had to admit defeat this morning with the Farmers Walk. I had to stop twice to put the bags down 😬 I'm walking to the surgery this afternoon, 1.5 miles each way, as parking is hopeless. The car park is much too small, as it caters for the medical centre and a dental practice.

I bet Putin has got the champagne 🍾 on ice 🤬

Morning everyone. Lurgy on the decline but still chesty and phlegmy, however I still decided to go out for a plod and I did the first miles of the month, in fact I did 4 of them. I did consider turning around at 1 mile thinking I was being silly but I was silly and continued 🤣 I quite enjoyed that by the end and I hope the fresh air has done me some good, although I wish I'd worn gloves.

Afternoon all sorry for lack of comms it’s been a crazy work week thank goodness it’s the weekend.

So you’ve all be busy and active well done for the dark miles and great hill session. Congrats on the 900 @Donnie1

Hope you’ve not had any after effects of your jab hs, some positive signs on your Covid issues Steve, hopefully they’ll continue to improve over the next 6 months.

Not much running this week with work trip and then waking up with terrible left calf cramp on Wednesday that returned yesterday making the run ouchy. I contacted my sports therapist who pummelled it this morning so nicely bruised but hopefully addressed the root cause and it’s good for next week (😬😬 next week!) I’m gutted that I’m not getting some extra miles in but ultimately it will be fine and extra rest won’t do me any harm.

We are almost at the boat for close up can’t believe the season is finished. I say close up OH is on that task I’m disappearing to London to meet up with the people I met in Jordan, so so excited to see them and great we’ve stayed in touch! My friend is coming too, very sad her and her husband are separating so it will no doubt be a bit emotional too. Difficulty is she’s married to my husband’s friend so hoping it doesn’t effect either friends relationship. We’re still doing WHW next year.

Thanks GG, no after effects from my RSV jab, in fact I got my best time at Bartley Park parkrun this year; see below.

I hope that the session with the sports physio yesterday will ensure your fitness for next week.

It will be nice for you and your friend, meeting up with old friends in London.

This mornings parkrun at Bartley Park went much better than expected. I smashed my target of 29.30 with 29.02! This was a WAVA of 69.17%. The overall 'winner' was one of the Running Cubs lady runners, beating all the men. The third place was also a lady! We've got some very fast lady and men runners in our club, which is very pleasing 😃

That's a great time HS well done. I can only report a PW in my parkrun today it was a very tough hilly trail one which was treachorous under foot. I couldn't take any chances and couldn't really run fast on the downhill sections. It was a beautiful country park.

It's a PW for a run I have done two worse times when I walked one after a fall and when I did an extra lap on one I didn't know. :-)
Well done on your 4 FF I hope you feel 100% soon.

Well done on your PB for Bartley Park, HS.

LL, well done on your run too, injury avoidance is the number one priority along with finishing in my view. The slower you go, the more you can enjoy the scenery.

17.25km run for me this morning, along a coastal trail on the Bass Coast in Gippsland. Very undulating with around 600m elevation gain in total and even some beach running which was tough going.

Heck what schedules you have gg and ugh to the calf cramp. Divorces where there are mutual friends are sometimes difficult but sometimes awkward. I know. When I was divorced 33 years ago people remained "friendly" but slowly disappeared as "friends" generally as we both moved in new directions after having been married for 20 years. Hope your friends work things out amicably gg.
Wotta park run hs! Fantastic!
Your park run was a tough course LL and not that bad a time considering the conditions.
Nice running Jack and phew, that's some elevation.
6.1 miles this morning. Very murky and damp, we've had total cloud completely now for ten days. The trails were deserted.

Thanks LL, I'm sorry that your parkrun was a PW, but you were sensible by running with caution on a treacherous course.

Thanks JackFW, it wasn't actually a pb for the course, but was the quickest this year.

Well done for your long coastal run with amazing elevation. It must have been a very tough run, especially as it included some beach running.

Thanks Steve, it was frustrating being 2 seconds over the 29 minutes. This was mainly due to being obstructed by 3 tail walkers walking side by side at a U turn round a bollard.

Well done for your 6.1 miles this morning on trails

I ran 4 miles on roads this morning at recovery pace. There was nothing in the tank after yesterday's hard efforts in the parkrun.
