Columba thank you for your quotation which is of course an encouragement to me. However, my quote from Daniel sums up my view of my achievements over the past 4 or 5 months!
Sorry to hear that Stander. Your various family difficulties make me thankful for my blessings etc. But you may be able to fit in occasional runs; sometimes a run is good forthinking through problems and even gives us strength to cope with them; also it's a great stress-buster.
I hope I shall be able to have a final trot for the year tomorrow morning.

There are definitely times over the last two years where running has helped me retain my sanity. If only because for the time that I am running I can literrally runaway from my problems, concentrate on nothing but the run and forget the issues. Doesn't make them go away.

Done! Finished the year on 1004; passed 1000 miles today... luckily the weather was kind.
Celebrated the 1000th mile with Mrs JD on a very wet and muddy moor in front of 6 (baffled) sheep.
Thanks for all your hard work Girlie. Aiming for 1500 next year.
I hope things get better for you and your family, Stander.

Over the line!
1003 miles done with a "fell race" in Essex, 4.5 miles with a 1000ft of climb. Saved a little jig for the finish line.
Roll on 2012, well done to everyone getting to 1000 today and good luck for those doing those final few miles today.
