Cheeky’s Dad
I’m still treading gently after my 26.2 a fortnight ago but back up to 7 today and pleased to feel that I’m chafing a bit at the reduced mileage. Not planning to get overexcited too soon, however 63.6/100

Well done on the Marathon 3M & hgreav (nice PB!), I enjoyed that course. The relay teams annoyed me though with their fresh legs :-), not sure if they still do that. Very easy 5k commute this morning, took the shorter route, but it's along busy roads & a motorway crossing so not as enjoyable but trying to taper down the mileage. 114/100 |

Great mileage from those already over the line with just over half the month gone. Another weekend away with no running but back tonight with a long run. |

Still zero running here. Covid effects lingering. I'm sure it will be gone soon. November miles will be back! G

Congratulations on your marathons hgreav (and on the PB!) and 3M! Hope you're both recovering well. Great to see so many strong totals just over halfway through the month. G hope the Covid effects clear up soon, definitely wise to be taking it easy though. Running rest day here but another morning swim done, going to try to make it a Monday morning habit for both the enjoyment and the cross-training. |

Sprout back when I was a runner of pace my then partner was in a fast relay team(they won) I chased her and then paced her to the person running their last leg. (I ran 2.40 that day) Relay teams are a curious thing and quite often people are right on their limit so fresh legs or not they are just another person to beat |

That's a big chunk of your previous marathon best hgreav...great stuff. And Deb in Toronto, great to do a pb in your race too . Not to forget 3M, well run there! Wisely recovering Cheeky, it'll serve you well! Big miles , superb miles Gobi. I ran a best on a personal course several years ago after giving my wife several minutes start, I caught her at mile eight and yeah, the incentive spurred me on. The tables have turned now😂. Mild here at 13c. 66/100. |

Oh yes, they still do that, Sprout. Pleased to say towards the end of each relay segment even I was overtaking a few of them! (Mostly company teams, often consisting of people who clearly don't have much of a running history!) I'm always reminded of the quip - "There's a name for people with no stamina. We call them sprinters!" (A bit unkind. It's just a different discipline!) |
