Creative veg eating - I like it.

Nice start to the year there RevBG.

2. carrot
3. parsnip

I've not had a great start fruit and veg wise. I'm pretty sure chocolate birthday cake does not have any veg in it but it needed eaten.

I'm keeping a spreadsheet like GM (though haven't alphabetised it - maybe I should). I shall add to it whenever fruit or vegetables pass my lips then post on here at the end of the day with my total of "new" things.

I expect the list I post to get shorter very quickly. I'd like to eat at least one fruit or veg I haven't tried per week on top of my regular items.

GM's spreadsheet sounds a good idea: alphabetical fruit/veg rows :-).

I was thinking that maybe someone could knock up a googledoc with all the fruits/veg they could think of?

Maybe what the thread needs is a vegetable Nazi?

I have a dilemma in that I have eaten about ten fruits and veg today: however none of them have been in big enough amounts to count as a portion (80g). So, hmm.

Where do we stand on nuts? (Not in a "specialist website" way :-o.)

If potatoes counted, I'd already have a duplicate because lunch included a baked spud and dinner included pan-roasted spuds.

Otherwise, banana, apple, sweet potato, parsnip, and Shiitake mushrooms in sufficient quantity to count, and garnish quantities of raisins, dried apricots, and pureed prune.

I've got sweetcorn, string beans, cabbage and spinach awaiting cooking for my dinner.
