Also you don't have anyone there with the experience of doing it before and if they apply it for everyone it means Adam won't get the chance to defend his fastest time (if he wants to).

Yes, I think it would be disappointing if Adam wanted to go back and improve on his time and couldn't.
I'm a bit disappointed too, but I accept that it's completely fair and hope everyone has as much fun as I did!

I wonder if they thought they would raise more money if they took new people rather than people who had already badgered people in the last few years?
I suppose from their point of view they want
a) strong runners who will cope b) to raise the most amount of money c) to increase the profile
for b and c they need to get new runners in so they can get new money

some valid points although just because you've raised the funds once doesn't mean you can't do it again ? I've raised over £15000 in the past 5 years for various charities & sure folks wouldn't apply if they didn't think they could raise the funds.
