Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

85 so far this year
I got 7342 last year, up from 5389 in 2020. Hoping we can travel more this year, so 10,000 should then be possible

Lifetime total = 36,346. I'm surprised it's that high.

We can have an alternative target for swotty cyclists of 10k circles in the first week :-)

I’ve got a road that won’t collect circles too - they end up parellel to but east of the street

I found some gaps as well. One two roads I just ran today. I wrote a blog about it:

How accurate is GPS to the maps (and different providers of the maps).

I've previously noticed on strava some errors in my runs to the actual map, especially when any other path is impossible, most commonly for example over a bridge.

Though that doesn't explain every error. Like others above, I've got several orphaned circles.

GPS certainly plays a part, and the maps can be slightly off.

I can’t be sure but I think there is something else at play. Perhaps not all GPS points are being used, or the algorithm to calculate the nearest hexagonal grid point is susceptible to small fluctuations and effectively moving to one that doesn’t appear right when we humans look at it.

284 on foot so far this year. I managed 10000 no bother last year but covered most of Leicester in that time. This year I might get a few more with races than I did last year.
