Safety pin the gels to your waistband-just make sure you don't go through the gel containing bit and get a leak! Do you have a tri belt?-use that for your number.

Sorry missed your last post.
Pin number to shorts? I sometimes see people with them on their leg.

Hmmm... not sure the shorts are even big enough to pin a number on! At least in tri, they just use a big black marker and write on your leg and arm (here, anyway!).

I have used an old HRM chest strap as a number belt - HRM died a long time ago but still had the strap.

The pinacle of my running technology, Croc, is a 5 buck kid's watch that I use as a stopwatch. HRM, pfff.

Are you sure you need two gels in a half? Not necessary, IMHO

Son, I am really, really slow. It will take me over 2 hours and the last 3k are all up hill. I'm pretty sure I will need at least one for a pick-me-up. (See also: no proper training...)

Longwayround (LWR)
IT, when I did a half in January I hadn't run any further than 10 miles (16km) before the race. It took me 2h5m46s and I fuelled on water. When I next do a half I may well take some Jelly Babies. From what I can tell, you're about as really, really slow as me.
