"A database of finishers has been created which involved manually inputting 20 years of historical results data" Y'know, I criticise the VLM for a few things, but it's job creation scheme is second to none. |

Manually inputted? 1981 was hardly the Stone Age. I've heard they even had primitive computers, which were basically gigantic steam-powered abaci that took up an entire skyscraper and the beads were moved back and forth by trained monkeys in place of electronic 1s and 0s. I think by manually inputted they mean that someone manually copied and pasted the old CSV files into Excel one morning, then spent two weeks playing Hearthstone and billed VLM for two weeks' consultancy. |

+1 Spleen. Until fairly recently (say, three or four years ago IIRC) nearly all the historical results were available on the London Marathon website - you just had to type the relevant URL into the address bar because links to them had been removed from the web pages

According to their website 'themen’s winner on 24 April will be #oneinamillion 964334.' So however many after that person crosses the line *looks for calculator* |
