he who dares Took a gamble and set off at 2:52 pace or there abouts, didn't quite pay off as suffered in the last 4 miles, but I still got what I really wanted which was a Sub 3! and a PB of 7 minutes 14 seconds. Oh and finished 52nd.

Johnbury Was on target for sub 4 but got cramp at 13 miles, so had to ease off, managed to run the cramp off (for the first time ever) but had to stay at a slower pace. Still got a pb.

Markonline99 Another sub-3 attempt failed. A carbon copy of London, fine until 20 miles in 2:16, then bang the legs won't turn over, reduced to a shuffle at the end. Will have to work on my speed and get my half marathon time down to sub-1:22 and give it another try in London.

Nifty My first marathon and I have to say total respect to people who have done more than one. Was aiming for 4 hours but around mile 18 all my energy left me. Had to walk two or three miles; but meant it gave time for my body to get all that gel slushing around in my stomach converted into useful glycogen; which meant the last mile was the fastest of all! Great atmosphere, well organised and friendly marshals. Apart from the one incident of a car trying to run me over at one junction, all good.
