Gokeith had a poor starting position on the line up and took until the end of the 1st long stretch before got some clear ground, did the silly thing of going too quick to try and catch guys i would normally be running with and paid the price on the 2nd lap, started going backwards and losing ground and being passed by a few runners.Back to form on the 3rd lap and made up a few places, felt quite strong.had clubmate about 30secs in front of me to chase caught him but had no answer to his sprint finish.Overall slightly disappointed but did enjoy race on a decent course(much better than last yrs muck and lhuge puddles)

Sunbed Athlete Enjoyed the run.Same venue as 2 years ago but in reverse order this time round.Ran even splits & took 20th place which secured Ronhill Cambuslang with the Team Silver medal.Took Gold last year so a wee bit dissapointed there. Was 5th counter for the Team for the 2nd year in a row.A couple of bits on the course heavy but apart from that enjoyed the course very much.Just hanging around @ the start in the cold blustery wind was the low part.

hannkies Unusually for me, had a very poor start to this race and it took me about a quarter mile to get away from the congestion. First time ever ran without a watch but I'm sure splits would have been fairly even. Had a wee group agonisingly in front of me and although I caught a couple of them had just given too much of a start away. Although I'm slightly disappointed, I deffo wasn't up for this at the start so all in all an

connelld The day had every signal of being a disaster. Cold, Wet, miserable. However once the race started you forgot about that.Getting started was difficult due to the quantity of runners, however as the group dispersed it got a bit easier. Sat around about Davie M but struggled to keep up with him. Picked it up slightly in the second lap probably going past more folk than were getting past me. 3rd lap was difficult and couldn't see the end quick enough. Still, overall happy with race.

daviec Cold, wet and windy race venue. Just the way I expect all cross country to be, so no surpise. The warm up lap revealed a flat-ish course with a few testing bumps. Short steep climbs followed by quick descents. The lap was just shy of 2 miles, but felt longer maybe because of the number of times it goes back on itself.

A large field with a lot of fast runners was a great experience to race. I got caught up a little at the start and was off too fast, but reined it in quickly to a more sustainable speed. Averaged around 6.30-6.40/mile for the most part. The first lap was good and I felt OK going into the second. In a big field of runners I found myself going past some and being passed by others almost constantly, but I was happy I was holding a steady pace. The hills were handy passing places and I put a lot of effort into each one when I had someone in front.

By lap 3 I was finding the heavy going was taking a toll on my legs. I tried not to break at the waist and just keep my legs turning over nice and easy. This had the desired effect and I found a second wind coming into the last mile to finish strongly. Very enjoyable race!

JulesR Well that brought back memories of why I haven't done any long xc races for 20 odd years. Slogged round in 7 min miles and came 136/160. Maybe need to work a bit on endurance before the Nationals in Feb, but I don't think Pollard's quaking in his spikes....

wil e coyote first lap head-2-head with conD, finished in 13:03, second lap and dropped a bit to 13:27, third lap really pushed into racing against a group of us going at it, 13:18. really pleased with this as XC is definitely not my bag and stayed well ahead of 3 pursuers from my club.
