Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Ex-pat Scot Weather makes a big difference to this one. Get a nice day and dry conditions, and the paths are a breeze.
Get a day like 9 Dec 2007, and you'll need a snorkel and caterpillar tracks to get through the ploughed muddy fields...

It couldn't be worse than last year, but it was. By quite some way.

melbas Thrilled to finish this long cold and muddy race, twenty miles further than I've ever been in one go. Enjoyed it until it got dark then struggled as I got cold, seized up and hobbled my way home. Thanks to fellow runners who helped me to navigate over those dark fields.

Rockeys mate Very hard work with the rain from over night and all day making the clay soil very heavy to carry around on your shoes. Did the first half on target time of 5 hours then got slower. Difficulty with navigating in the dark on one section. So glad I've done it.
