About this parkrun

My favourite Parkrun. It’s all on wide forest trails with out a sniff of tarmac or concrete! Road shoes are fine but if you want to get the most out of it, wear trail shoes👍🏻

All trail through Forestry commission land. 1km out, 3km around a lake, 1km back. Flat (9m elevation gain).

1Km to lake, 3Km around lake, 1Km back to start/ visitor centre/ car park. Well established route- road shoes fine. Amazing vibe through trees & around lake. Coffee afterwards in the Linwood Visitor Centre.

It's a run in a forest. And there's water alongside. I hope that sounds good to everyone because it is :-)
Single loop which is nice, good facilities although there was an event on when I was there which led to confusion about carparking.

Hard trails throughout, ran it in heavy rain and could (maybe should have?) worn road. Single lapper- uphill then lightly undulating. Very friendly regulars and a stunning setting!

Lovely undulating forest trail course , a lap of the lake with an out n back section to the start finish. Parking (£3), toilets , cafe etc 200m from the start

Out to the lake, 1 loop round lake then back the way you came on good paths, lovely trail course. Plenty of parking and friendly volunteers made a really enjoyable parkrun.

Lovely 1 lapper, as Sigh says - 1km up and down to the lake, 3km around the lake, 1km up and down to finish. I wouldn't describe it as flat! All on hard pack trails, can get a little muddy in very wet weather. Road shoes for a fast one are fine!

Undulating forest trails, very muddy in parts but a beautiful setting for some parkrun tourism. Not a pb course but very scenic and would like to run it again in summer if I can
