So after buying my yoga blocks (huge investment!) I missed last week because we were away, and the lesson today didn't require them. They looked very nice sitting off to the side and waiting to be called into action. Very reassuring.

Didn’t require them? You’re a bendier man than me then mi hermanito. I use them even if I’m sitting cross-legged on my mat.

How? Pretty much everything in the lesson today was either sitting or laying down and I couldn't think of any way the blocks would help.

I also always sit on a block.

One under the head when lying down is also comfy. I have a long neck.

Sitting on a block when I'm in that cross-legged starting position might help, actually. Might try that next time.
Not sure about having one under my head when I'm lying down, though. At the moment most of the time when I'm lying down I'm craning my neck up to see what I'm meant to be doing next.
