Do those two latter ones require you to dislocate your hip?!

Nope, just open hips...or working towards open hips. Start off in table top, then step one leg forward to hands into a low lunge, not moving the 'back' knee further back. You can keep the back knee to wherever is comfortable/manageable. If it feels easy, then gently ease the back knee further back, getting a bigger stretch in the adductors and the fascia of the hips.

Happy baby is probably a good starting point. :)

I'm doing shorter sessions (than recommended) of several poses - because I never have much time, but my hips are already more flexible, and my piriformis way less grumbly than normal, done 8 sessions worth each morning, with Happy Baby in there. I have always had reasonable flexibility anyway.

Managed a 16 miler at the weekend and at a faster pace my previous 11 and 14 milers and was sub 9 even at mile 14 - then stopped to wait for the rest of my group to catch up. So early days, but 2 weeks of yoga and stretches definitely having tangible benefits. Now to keep on keeping on.

As part of trying something new for 2022, I thought I might try to slot in, say 3x20min yoga blocks of basic hip/lower back stuff to see if that would help now I've started to loosen my back off a bit.

Then I watched some "beginner" videos on YouTube and realised it was all still far too advanced for me.

So unless anyone has any totally basic example videos, I'm giving up again!
