Thank god Dexter doesn't hump! However he pees on everything and I mean EVERYTHING. Well, he is very good in the house, but outside he's like it's mine, all mine mawhahhaha! I keep him on the lead in the park now to stop him peeing on jumper "goal posts" and stealing from people's disposable BBQs :-o

Dobby looks gorgeous :)

Question for those with male dogs.... prompted by the above! ....
At what age did you have yours castrated.. I know in the old days one had to wait till they were about six months but I gather the advice has now changed to ... as soon as you like..

Any thoughts?

Cookie came nut free.

I would speak to a vet and get their advice.

I don't know when Dexter was done unfortunately. I do wonder that because he doesn't hump, whether he was done early and therefore never got the mating urge?

I know it's a different species but my cats when I was in Australia were neutered very early (male and female). I think it was at 12 weeks??

Tee hee to peeing on Jumpers for Goalposts, Red Ant.....although not if it happened obv! :-)

Jess humped her bedding for a while. it's pretty common behaviour in young dogs including bitches.

I genned up on all that info D, but have forgotten the mopst recent recommendations - as Dave says best to speak to your vet. Some seem more enlightened and up to date than others - but I think you have a good one?

His breeder may also have some advice/feedback from the owners of previous litters perhaps D2? Wanda was spayed just before we got her and she seemed so young for it (probably around 9 months old?) but she coped with it all fine... never had to deal with it for a male dog though
