By the way, Jet's antics yesterday are in my latest blog - a bit too long for a forum post.

we were told by a vet nurse that after 5 or 6yrs old the dog was probably immune to the strains in the jab without any more boosters -but not having had his booster for a couple of years means I didn't know there was a new lepto strain/jab - so needs thinking about again. Ralph's never had the kennel cough one, seeing as he's never likely to need to be kenneled I am v conscientious with flee and tick stuff though, the tick diseases being v worrying |

We regularly use the flea/tick stuff from the vet, more to stop bitey things in the house than for the dog's benefit...

Floss seems completely back to normal now :-). I think next year as she will be nearly five, I'll talk to the vet about the need for all the jabs. She had kennel cough this year but I think it's less and less likely that she'll be going to kennels so we might at least drop that one. I do the flea/tick thing, and have just wormed her too, even though to my knowledge none of our dogs has ever had worms. |

Jess has yearly vaccine - just the one I think. We use a herbal thing for fleas and ticks - it's really good (just goes on food and smells like the Maquis in Corsica!) She also has something called Vermex for worms etc. She is very healthy, is never ill and has great skin for a GSD. (they are prone to excema and the like). I absolutely don't believe in homeopathy - but think herbal stuff may well work. After all lots of drugs are plant based really. myitchydog.co.uk |

I'm hope I'm not tempting fate saying Jess is never ill - but she's been to the vets, er, ONCE, apart from one early puppy tummy upset, being spayed, and yearly health checks. That's pretty good gong for nearly four years! |

Or she may be better behaved than the inquisitive scavenging monster that shares our home.
