And he’s petplanned up.

We had a choice of tplo or lateral suture. Given a range of things, not just cost, we’ve gone for the simpler suture repair.

Ouch, although that's some impressive height he was getting.
He doesn’t realise how high he used to be able to jump 😉

He’s so petplanned up it’s ridiculous. I’m waiting for the investigation into us having munchausens by proxy with the dogs for the revolving door we seem to be on with these two in and out of the vets ☹️

What was Flossie’s recovery LD?? Was it a long process?

She had the op mid October, we weren't allowed to walk her up the hill (our usual daily walk) until January. She was not supposed to get on or off sofas for several weeks post-op, but we put cushions on the floor so it was a soft landing and that was fine.

We considered both options. Cost didn’t come into it, thanks to Petplan. We’ve gone for less invasive as it’s less physical and mental stress for him (and us), a quicker recovery and we had to factor in his age as well.
Plus being a small dog, he should do ok with the option we’ve gone for.

Yes I seem to recall the vet saying that for larger dogs (such a Lab, like Flossie) he recommends TPLO. But on a terrier, the suture should be fine.

One thing we read was about the needs of larger and smaller dogs.
