Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Merry Christmas and Happy NewG(rrr)
Hi dog lovers. I was just checking in for a bit of tea and sympathy. Our wee terrier is on her last legs, unfortunately.

She is 11 year old Parson Russell (like a Jack Russell but longer legged). She was diagnosed with cancer (lympathic) in January, had 4 months of chemo, to which she responded well, and has been pretty well since June. But a couple weeks ago she started being sick again, and looked in pain. Vet trip, and they couldn't find anything else, so suspected it was the cancer back.

My wife and I agreed we wouldn't do the chemo again, because even though it gave her another few months, it really was pretty rough on her (2-3 days sick out of the 7 day treatment cycle). So it's just going to have to take its course.

She's on lots of medicines just to make her comfortable, and she has been OK for a week, but even that is now not helping. So it might be quite close to decision time. Just a bit sad. :-(

Neither of those are really best pictures of her - second one is at about 6 weeks old. And first one is just a silly one. I've got lots of lovely pictures of her. Obv never loaded up to Fetch! :-) G

Aww, thanks guys. Like I say, just fishing for a bit of sympathy (not just for the disturbed nights and lack of sleep!) Yeah, I actually will be fine when she's gone (don't want to sound callous, but I don't mind if we have a dog or not) but I hate seeing her suffering.

Oh no Happy! Hugs!
I just popped in from the cat thread to see what was wrong with your dog. Awful when they suffer and you have to make that decision. They are like children... So you want to do the best by them.
You will know her well enough to take a lead from her in this very difficult decision and will do the right thing by her.
Heartbreaking though xx
