Murphy has been out for first proper walks today, it was all VERY EXCITING, and he needed a sleep on boy2 later.

Approached by two large German Shepherd Dogs as I crossed Victoria Park this morning. One friendly, the other a little cautious. Talked at length with the owner: their coat colour was 'blue', thick, black hair, well separated. Owner said condition in coat was improved by a largely 'raw' diet. They didn't enjoy the heat, even as early as 8am!

Wow lots of new puppies!
Has anyone else found their adolescent dogs get more whingy and demanding? Albie is 9 months now. He’s a lot better in many ways but at the moment he constantly wants something else (I don’t even think he knows what). He’s whining for my friend to come round - keeps looking at the door. Whinging in the evenings before settling. I worry I’m not stimulating/interesting enough for him.
Today was tough - I was working from home which is always hard but mostly he sleeps in his pen and goes out with dog walker then sleeps again. From 4pm today he was crying and demanding attention. It’s hard to ignore and makes it hard to work so I ended up in the kitchen with him. I finish at 6:30 on a Thursday. Thankfully both patients only wanted short phone calls - it’s not easy doing therapy with a howling dog! I’d love him to chill in my home office but he paces about pulling books off shelves and eating them 🙄. I expect that will improve with time.
He’s super cute and lovely but also annoying and stressful! Maybe living with just me is not enough. 🤷♀️

Might just be a Whippet thing?
My Lab will bring me a toy if she wants to play, will drool on my knees if she wants my food, will bring me her bowl if I’m late with her dinner, will nudge the cat if it’s hogging her bed, will go to the back door if she wants out, will bring me her leash if she wants a walk, etc.
My Whippet will just stare at me and whine for any of those scenarios and expect me to mind read. Nine time out of ten, she just wants more blankets to burrow under (even if she’s clearly overheating). Whining/crying just seems to be her default method of communicating!

Ultracat
Finn is pushing the boundaries just now, his newest game is to take a drink of water and then tip the rest all over the floor, will need to get something heavier and harder for him to carry about. He is cute though.

Haha Fergus. True. I do think he may be going through a few hormonal shifts too. Recall is increasingly optional at the moment 🙄
Ultracat - Albie used to do the same. All his water bowls are heavy ceramic now.
I’m not totally convinced Albie is 100% whippet. He’s a big whippet and his head is bigger than my sister’s whippet. I’ve got a dna test - I’m interested to find out what he may have in his ancestry! (Once I’ve managed a cheek swab 😆 - I may wait until he’s sleepy).
