:)

Ralph bagged Blencathra today, and then after sleeping through the drive to and from Carlisle, demanded an evening walk and ballgame. He's snoring loudly now though.

I had to remove a load of frozen chicken livers from the freezer yesterday to make space...which means I’ll have make liver cake later. Yuk. I hope Rory appreciates it. (He won’t...)

Dogs love liver cake (we use to oven dry treats too) but the smell is rank. The treats were yum mind ;)

We returned to an agility class today having not done agility on a regular basis for quite some time. I'm glad BaronBR came with me because he was able to see what a little porker Wanda has turned into (not through my doing although the trainer made a sympathetic murmur about spayed bitches often putting on a bit of weight...)

Anyway bless her the course was the hardest she (or indeed I) has ever done and it was a relatively hot day and she did everything - only making mistakes that were my fault when I wasn't clear with my directions.

She was tired by the end of the class and is flat out asleep now. On a diet from now on and working on her fitness I think if we are going to continue at the end of this 4 week course!

I've strongly suggested to son2 that the new BC might enjoy agility classes. Flossie and I were completely hopeless :-)

As you know I'm a fan of agility classes, or indeed anything that makes the dog *think*. I'm a bit of a fan of thinking too but that's for bloggage.

The great thing about our agility is that it exercises Jet and myself physically and mentally. Jet always has a recovery nap afterwards.

A tired dog... etc

Part of Rory's entry into the 'most frustrating dog in the South' contest is that I think he'd really love agility, but he can't focus enough to do it. Or possibly, it's all a bit much so he employs all his displacement techniques in the manner of a small boy who's poking the person next to him to hide the fact he doesn't understand his maths.

I feel such empathy with you about Rory especially your comment about displacement techniques! As yet I have not been brave enough to record how me and him (that's Indi not your Rory) are getting on in our path towards KC Gold... I fear the path will be long, its certainly been winding. :)
