She's tucking into a doggy ice-cream at the moment - then she'll probably come in and sit by the fire demanding we put it on for her. We are practically melting in our T-shirts etc I can't imagine what it must be like with fur....

Two weeks ago, having not run for 2 months, I decided to run (and walk) Leamington parkrun, with George. It was, of course, very warm so we ran when we were in the shade and not going up hill and finished in about 42 mins. Before the start, I took George to the doggie watering station and there was a small paddling pool beside it. Apparently, the pool was provided by one of Leamington's canicross runners so that hot dogs can get properly cool after the run. Brilliant! How many parkruns have a doggie paddling pool?! I don't think George was especially hot after we'd finished because we were so slow but I took him to the water bowl anyway. He refused a drink and I then decided to see if he wanted a dunk in the pool. I lifted him in and he stood still for a few seconds before trying to make an escape. I had just enough time to squeeze the sponge (also thoughtfully provided) over his head and neck before letting him get out for fear of him making holes in the pool with his scrabbling. I'm sure if he was a spaniel or a labrador, he'd have been much more appreciative of the water! |

He would I've just seen the most gorgeous black working cocker, called Willow, on the train. She is tiny compared to Jet, but really lovely. |

My sister's got one called Maggie, Helegant. She is tiny and only about a year old but completely bonkers. She never stops. SO pretty though.
