Yes Dougal didn't like water at first, at all. We have had to do careful familiarisation in a local quarry pool that's not too deep, but that in certain circumstances he has to swim and that seems to do the trick. He dictates where he wants to walk, hates traffic and will do anything to avoid it.

Daisy's very chilled but she does raise an eyebrow at a car swooshing past. She's not a dramatic dog at all. If she doesn't like something she does a bit of a body swerve and meanders elsewhere. Zen dog.

Horrible incident I gather in our village today although I have only been told by a dog walking friend who has a very nervous Romanian rescue so we are always 'understanding' to each other when we meet out on walks. A lovely couple of ladies who walk their dog round the village every morning and whenever I see them they are always very kind about Wanda, saying how she has improved etc and other lovely things, were apparently walking past a house in the village when a large dog jumped over its gate and attacked their dog. From what I understand the owner of the dog did a lot of hollering of abuse (at them and his dog) but didn't actually 'do' anything. The dog belonging to the 2 women got bitten as did one of the women although she is so stressed she has no idea which dog it was but she was trying to get the escaped dog off hers at the time. I gather the police are now involved and my heart goes out to the two ladies - such an awful thing to happen. |

Such a horrible thing to happen, it scares me that there are so many dogs not properly under control.
