Jess has never had any ticks, perhaps we've been lucky as she does spend a lot of time racing over open ground, fields and woodlands.

We use a herbal thing called Billy No Mates you put in food

That looks interesting Sharkie :)

Vet charges for prescriptions and insists on seeing dog before they're written - hence Frontline and otc wormerd. Maybe I need to change vet ?

I know I have bought one of the wormers over the pharmacy counter at Asda but it may have been Frontline. However with the ones you get from the vet we usually just go in and ask to buy three months worth.

We use Advocate and Drontal, like BBL it's "over the counter" at the vets for a 6 month supply.

Obedience class. Rory was really focused (well, mostly) and the instructor said he looked much happier than last week and was doing brilliantly. I nearly cried.

Then he peed on the floor while I was talking at the end. Flipping dog :-)

He obviously thought that he needs to keep you on your toes! Well done on the pre-pee performance.

It *is* boring when you just want to go home after school and your mum insists on hanging around chatting :-)

Rory is amazing when you think of the changes he has dealt with in the last couple of weeks :)

Many of the anti parasite treatments seem to take a sledgehammer to a stone approach - and still don't work - so we thought a less highly chemical treatment might work.

The My Itchy Dog site is well worth a look. Shepherds are well known for having sensitive skin and allergies - Jess absolutely doesn't and has thick, healthy, shiny fur.
