Thanks for the advice re: Dougal - I guess it's a mix. Standing up and then ignoring him makes him quizzical. He comes running in from the kitchen so it's hard to predict, as he runs in, jumps, tries to grab sleeve/get attention. Sometimes he doesn't. Sometimes he's just got a toy that he's chewing, and is happy with that. Wondering about a stair gate across my office door, so I can keep it open but keep him out except on my terms. My wife thinks move the crate from the kitchen to the office, but I don't want to increase crate time, I want to decrease biting/attention seeking.
As for running with dogs - that will be me in 9 months time hopefully! I know 2 very experienced cani-Xers who can aid me.
