BaronessBL Aug 2016 10:47pm, 2 Aug 2016 5,698 posts	0 BaronessBL My understanding of the difference is that we say wait when we are going to ask the dog to do something else afterwards... so e.g. sit, wait, owner walks away and recalls the dog then gives the release command/fuss etc. Stay is used when there isn't going to be a following command... eg down, stay, owner walks away for 2 minutes then returns to the dog and gives the 'release' word and fuss. That's how we were taught at the class I used to go to... it's not really an area that has been discussed at my new class but it seems to be the same..

Yesterday we met up with a friend and her 1 year old cockapoo. Another friend joined us with her spaniels. Oh what fun! Ernie found the perfect partner to bundle with.
