Been there done that, got the badge, never again. To be fair it was only 60/70 miles of each though

To achieve both also depends on where you are in the table. Further down the table and both can be achieved with a lot less miles (that said, unless you unfortunately happen to be drawn against one of you high mileage mad folk! )

ITG - you’ve secured our 1v1 no problem - by your greater coverage of the grid - well done - it’s been a good game 😀
I am going out today, but I'm not going to be able to make up the deficits to regain enough squares (or make cake) even if you do nothing today! I really am looking forward to working my way back down the rankings especially with my route choices now more limited by full return to pre-covid rotas. Not working from home and having to allow commute time (albeit on the bike it’s only in-grid for the first and last mile) again along with darker mornings has had a big impact on my available running time.

Morning, Panad! By Tuesday you had dominated my favourite path (shakes tiny fist) and I've been struggling for my second favourite badge all week. I planned it for the end of my run yestersay but my battery died. I had to adapt to squares I thought I could hold against you. Our training is pretty similar and it could always go either way.
Even when I am pretty sure I cannot win, I try my best to make my opponent bust his or her guts and never to feel secure; and you did the same to me. Thanks for making a good game of it.
But I'll need a break as I am headed to Greenland and will need to quarantine for 5+ days. This means while you might drop a spot, you'll still probably meet some mental multisport wsw obsessive!

Yes, I’ve really enjoyed the game, despite never quite feeling like I could beat you, you definitely kept me on my toes and it has been close enough for me to actively think about what route I will go as much as possible, just in case I could keep it within reach for this morning’s run, but it wasn’t to be

*second favourite path* (not badge. I'm obsessed with badges).
I'm heading out to finish the kms I didn't get in yesterday. It's a beautiful morning and I need to make the most of it.
WSW definitely got a lot toughter at the top when the UK lockdown hit but of course I will be happy when we are all returned to our normal patters.

ITG, you certainly have a problem! B-A-D-G-E not very close on my keyboard to P-A-T-H. Are Icelandic keyboards different?

Lol! i was wondering what your second favourite badge was, and how wsw was impacting you getting it 🤣
Had a fun wet splash in the woods this morning, enjoying being able to pick my paths as I went along rather than ‘needing’ to run in certain squares 😁

>you win 1:1 mostly by visiting more squares, not by fighting over squares your competitor has, IME.
I think that depends on where in the table you're playing. I can get into about 140 squares, depending a little on the time of year. In 1v1 games, the grid is often pretty close to full by the end of the week, and trying to win by visiting more squares will definitely not work. You need to win 113 squares to be sure of winning the game, so fighting over the marginal/swing squares is the way to win.

Well done multi match players, I’m watching with interest, & darlO - my opponent this week, definitely your win well deserved. & certainly more than the 113 mentioned above that you need, 139 !
