Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I am coming back to running after 10 years and have my fist Saturday (I say race but it is a club runners race so I just want to keep up). Paula Radcliffe's book is a great primer for new runners or people like me who have forgotten loads

Hi

Can I recommend "Fat Man to Green Man"
A very funny , self deprecating read, about a chap and his mates deciding to take on an Ultra.
Well written!

Running Man by Charlie Engle was also good.

I'm surprised that there's no mention for "running well" by Sam Murphy & Sarah Connors, which focuses on avoiding injury and has an extremely useful section (that I regularly refer to unfortunately) on diagnosing niggles and injuries with advice on what to do for each.

"Strength and conditioning for endurance running" by Richard Blagrove arrived this week. It seems to offer comprehensive advice that I will follow.

Bump.

I read Binks’s book “Running and Stuff” and can recommend it.
