Inset Day being used for a children's party. I've had to close the windows and doors to keep the noise down as I am trying to work. Already had the bouncy castle guy and numerous parents blocking my driveway all morning.

Ordered something from China. Not too big and will fit a large envelope or very small packet.

Originally told that it will arrive on Thursday but now not until next Tuesday - a bit late for what I want it for. When they say it is being shipped, is that literal? What's wrong with air mail? After all, they got Covid to Europe faster than that!

Notifications on Instagram telling me that @******* and @******* want to follow me on Threads, “Instagram’s new message app”.
No they don’t, (and I know that because I actually asked them by talking to them and not messaging them).

The change in meaning of "just about" slowly moving from "nearly" to "just."

"Just about hit" used to mean missed, now it seems to be getting used for actually hit but only just.

The expression "near miss" comes to mind, @RunningRonnie . If you think about it, it's should be a "near hit"!

Seeing someone in the audience for Shania Twain's set at Glastonbury (which looked like it was probably fab) holding a baby above their head which a) didn't seem to be able to hold its own head up and ii) was not wearing any hearing protection.

I saw that too and the way the camera cut quickly from it makes me think the BBC were worried about complaints pouring in. Poor little thing, why do people take kids to Glastonbury, it’s not a good place for them.
