Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

[ John Major appeared totally inadequate as PM but now he towers above most current politicians. ]

Sitting on a plane and being told that we're late because we boarded too slow and missed the slot. Erm... no. I think it's because you started letting the previous passengers off 5 minutes before the scheduled departure time!

I think Major was hugely underrated at the time.

This is one from my childhood - the fact that the boardgame Mastermind is nothing like the telly programme. Everytime I see it, Mrs XB was playing it today, I am reminded of the utter disappointment all those years ago.

Totally that, XB. Particularly because answering general knowledge questions was my sort of thing and the coloured peg game was completely incomprehensible to me.

I used to have the word edition. It was interesting but not exciting. Probably not the sort of game a primary school child would go for.

[I never had the board game, and I don't think I've ever played it, but I can see the box clearly in my head. Why is that?]
