Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

+1 for forest bathing

What’s next a ‘car window down and a bit of fresh air shower’ ?

That 'slow radio' slot: listen closely, and you'll hear the producers splitting their sides.

Clare Balding, in the 'Ramblings' Radio 4 show, certainly puts the miles in, although rain prevented much walking near Dolphinholme. Lancashire with the two nonagenarian sisters who worked abroad as code breakers in WW2.

Football commentators apologising for inappropriate language viewers might pick up from the crowd. It’s unnecessary and just draws attention to it.

Had my car insurance renewal quote through a few days ago - £305.
Yesterday someone drove into the side of me on a roundabout, so reported the incident to my insurer.
Just got updated renewal quote - £392 :(

[That's what people in Scotland did when I was young, DT. If the weather was especially nice, you might take a chair out and sit by the car. Largely died out now, I think.]

Is it time to start a forest bathing backlash yet? Promotes obesity by discouraging moderate to strenuous physical activity.

I still remember back in the 70s, elderly people would take a chair outside of an evening and sit by the front gate, greeting passers by.

[The sitting at your front door thing still happens here.]

[Never mind obesity, there's the suggestion that the NHS should "prescribe" forest bathing, which was only invented five minutes ago, when the same temporary feeling of wellbeing could be achieved more cheaply and simply and, probably, safely by being allowed to prescribe weed cookies, which have been around for aeons.]
