Depends how you mean it. I never said out loud that my dog was my daughter, that sounds like something an insane person would do. She was, however, as important (if not more so) than a daughter would be to me, and i'm guessing it is this version you hate?

[KPM - for example posting a picture of their dog looking out the window with the caption "she [dog] has really missed mummy while she was away" or "waiting for mummy/daddy to come home". That would be a massive surprise if a random Alsatian came bowling down the drive rather than the human who looks after the dog.
I have a cat which is part of the family but I'm certainly not Salem's parent. ]
