After a 27 day streak I missed the steps target Garmin set for me yesterday by 80 steps (I'm still averaging 17000 a day over the last month and haven't missed 10000 steps since early September)

We had over an inch of rain overnight, after a very wet afternoon yesterday.
The tree surgeons have been here today, seeing to our poplars and twisted willows. The clue is in the type of tree - that area of the garden is boggy at the best of times.

After several men in heavy boots have been working there all day, my 'no-mow May' area could be mistaken for the Somme :-( Not their fault, they've done a great job and are very tidy workers. Just a shame the heavy rain came when it did.

It'll be interesting to see if my bee orchids and snake's head fritillaries will survive.

That seems to happen to me more frequently these days too.

[don't mean to trump anyone, but when you have but a single paw ring pull cans present a certain jeopardy]

Interesting, I thought it was just me! Luckily we still have a decent (Good Grips) tin opener.

Is an electric or battery can opener available @richmac ?

OH is making moussaka for our tea, but he's cooked the aubergines at such a high temperature it's set off the fire alarm. I really don't like burnt aubergine :-(
