After a 27 day streak I missed the steps target Garmin set for me yesterday by 80 steps (I'm still averaging 17000 a day over the last month and haven't missed 10000 steps since early September)

We had over an inch of rain overnight, after a very wet afternoon yesterday. The tree surgeons have been here today, seeing to our poplars and twisted willows. The clue is in the type of tree - that area of the garden is boggy at the best of times. After several men in heavy boots have been working there all day, my 'no-mow May' area could be mistaken for the Somme Not their fault, they've done a great job and are very tidy workers. Just a shame the heavy rain came when it did. It'll be interesting to see if my bee orchids and snake's head fritillaries will survive. |

[don't mean to trump anyone, but when you have but a single paw ring pull cans present a certain jeopardy]

Interesting, I thought it was just me! Luckily we still have a decent (Good Grips) tin opener. Is an electric or battery can opener available @richmac ? |

OH is making moussaka for our tea, but he's cooked the aubergines at such a high temperature it's set off the fire alarm. I really don't like burnt aubergine
