Alice the Camel
That one of the 3 original recipes for simnel cake originated in Devizes. That Devizes simnel cake is star shaped, and that the "common" (popular) simnel cake with marzipan follows the Shrewsbury recipe. The other recipe originated in Bury, if I remember correctly. |

The three-mile stretch of road between Nettleton Bottom and the Brockworth Bypass (near Cirencester) is the only piece of single carriageway on a major route between Edinburgh and Italy. Although tbh I have some doubts over that fact (from This Is Cirencester). |
