Using the wonders of Fetch route mapping, I think I can claim with some confidence that Thetford is quite low-lying (15-20m in the CBD) so cannot be fairly described as "up a big hill".
There may be a couple of medium inclines (and subsequent descents) on the way, particularly from Croxton, but nothing classable as "a big hill".
