However as long as you use fluoride toothpaste and make sure the children don't swallow it it's probably ok. I used to eat toothpaste (not just what I brushed with, I liked the taste and ate it in lumps) and I have white lines on my teeth from too much fluoride. Which is why toothpaste for children has lower ppm.
