Surprisingly hard to fill a £40 basket for shopping delivery Wonder if I’m better off turning my freezer back on

Topped up your stocks of toilet paper and detergent? That's what I usually use if I've got a spending target.

That is a good point. I think I can amend the order until Monday.

Unless you stay very rural I’d be reluctant to get a shopping home delivery these days. The folk doing this are constantly put under pressure to go faster, therefore all attempts at quality for the customer go out of the window.

Nearly 200 items and hour doesn’t give much scope to be selective.

A on line shopping substitution thread could be fun.

We ordered a pillow recently & got a pillow protector instead😀

It’s cos I have covid and can’t go out! I put a lot of instant noodle pots and microwave rice in the basket and also some ready meals last night as I was a bit lacking in ideas. It’s the lack of control over use by dates which I don’t like about supermarket deliveries - but needs must

I hope you’re ok. Time constraints don’t let shoppers look for better dates, they’re taught to, but in reality to meet targets they can’t.

Ordered garden gloves a few months ago and got grass seed as a sub😀

I was reading about Bridewell Palace that became the site of the Lever Building.

A Bridewell Taxi was Leeds slang for a police van, as its destination was often Bridewell, the Leeds central police station and cells.

Which in turn was linked to Bridewell Palace, which latterly became a correctional institution, then jail; and lent its name to similar in sundry locations.

(OS's post had made me think of The Bridewell Taxis, a band who probably hadn't crossed my mind in a good number of years. Their Wikipedia page makes a diverting read en.m.wikipedia.org )
