TRO I was swimming 3 days a week pre work so I'm totally thrown

I've had to write day cards to remind myself what day of the week it is!

3 days ago I redistributed the ironing pile to respective clothes owners and put away the iron and board (when I say put away, I mean away away!). For the first time in at least 35 years there will be no clothes ironed this week and none in the immediate foreseeable.

It's a bit weird for someone as institutionalised as I am, but I'm learning to cope!! :)

Jenelopy - three additions to your list ..

1) know when to stop.

I'm sure there's always more work than time. In an office/factory there's a natural stop point - when you leave. When WFH'ing, it's easy to 'just do another 10 -15 minutes'.
But when you've done that, there will still be something that 'will just take a few more minutes' ...

2) 2 way communication is best
So if you can't do face to face, phone call or skype/whatever talking or chat is better than email

3) video calls swallow & consume bandwidth.

So if you (at home) or the company has poor network capability, turn off the video. And trim down on the multi megabyte graphics. Text and voice use minimal bandwidth compared to video.

Re ironing clothes? Why aren't you in pyjamas & dressing gown? Then running gear. Then 'real' clothes from about 2pm onwards.

I've just worked out (after 5 days of WFH) that the bruise on my arm is where I am typing and my arm is half off the desk - re-arrangment of desk take 4!

I could stop now, but I had a slightly extended lunch break, then technical problems when I went back in, so I feel like I ought to continue. But in a minute I will take a break before I start on dinner.

My tips to be productive are:

1) Get up at your normal time.

2) Wash/shower/brush teeth, etc., and get dressed (not necessarily in work clothes, but don't stay in your nightwear.

3) Use your normal commute time to do yoga, or read, or go for a walk. I've heard of a person who gets ready as if going to work, goes out the front door for a 30 minutes walk, then returns and starts work.

4) Take breaks every 30 minutes or so. Try and talk to someone. Take the work blinkers off and enjoy being at home

5) Lock any other people in the house in a soundproof room.

D I am not getting up as early as I used to swim before work 3 days

I was then doing a walk or run despite getting up later as I used to get in about 9 and work later but now we are all WFH we are all finishing at 5 so I have to start at 8! So I need to move my alarm again! Doh!

I have to put my shoes on, and this morning I had a blanket on my legs.
