Hoping to come along too this weekend if Dod is fine after his hospital treatment. Really tempted to head north if I do although heading south might be better training for me. My (sparce) hill work has been good but my technical stuff not so much. Doing an out and back over Rannoch moor in the past really is a bugger on the cobblestones,

I thought your favourite part was the descent into Kinlochleven? Rannoch Moor is awesome, bar the fecking midgies.

It's downhill coming back and always been my space cadet section on the whw so might do me good. Dod thinks i should head south but I usually do the opposite of what he says anyway.

Lol it was my idea to head south tbf. But having done it recently over fling and in jan I don't feel need so much anymore. Rannoch is difficult on legs and feet after 70 miles and I walk too much there

I did the out and back on Rannoch last month and forgot just how unforgiving those cobblestones are on the way back down, presumably because you're running a bit faster and just seemed to play havoc on my knees.

Did the Tyndrum - Kingshouse section last year when off for a couple of days. Lou turned up with racing flats and swore the whole way up Rannoch moor. Luckily it was only 10m into the run rather than 70..
I'm walking the whole route from monday and will be good to recce the northern section before the relay without doing any damage.
More excited about :)G's taper madness which can't be far away;-)
