I thought you were crocked again Flip. Sorry to hear that. Is it your foot again?
Mrs s, my crew leader is KJTindall, formerly of this parish. I crewed for him last year. He did great, got his goblet, finished around 2am, having to walk almost all 13 of the last miles until the fire road. He is a top guy. Other half of crew is Chris Bell, who you may not have met (though he's registered on Fetch, I think) and his wife Leigh. Chris started the Fling this year but had to DNF, but has a great, positive attitude. He came to the Fling last year, just to cheer us all on at the deer gate at Crianlarich. Top chaps both. Leigh prob has no idea what she's let herself in for, but she's walked the full WHW in 5 days with Chris, so knows the route and loves it. Hope she enjoys it too. G

Thankfully not the foot again. It's my knee :-)G and I've not run for a few weeks. It was getting better but i stepped of a ladder at work and twisted it again last week.
Not had the best of years so far with my lowest totals since i started recording training. (except broken foot months ). Weights and turbo every day at the moment.
Hoping its OK in a few weeks though
Mind I've done that much marshalling lately that every runner who meets me, like Pavlov's dogs expect Cola and chocolates!

I think crew enjoy it all just as much as the runners I had a great time 2 years ago and really looking forward to it again this year.
Flip, you need to get a new job, it's a serious threat to your running

Of course sants, magic to have then on the crew too. I'm hoping Cal and Sarah come to the finish too, but not for the actual on route stuff. I think Sarah would get too worried about the state I'm in!
Flip, that's not good. But if you can keep core cardio etc. going with turbo then you won't lose too much fitness. Presume if it's the knee you can't play footie either? Football is the curse of so many runner's woes, if what I've heard at club/parkrun etc is anything to go by!
Great hill run with club last night. Planned for 8 or 9, ended up doing 13, with some brilliant yomping up decent, steepish climbs. 1800ft total. Stunning sunset last night too. And Tue I did 13 x 300m hill with 1:10 climb in 95-100 secs. So about 1200ft climbing total? I am going to get the hang of these hill things before June! G

Right Boab, you asked for it, here's the explanation.
Last week I joined Keith from Harmeny doing it. He was doing 8. I got there a bit late, so he'd done two. I was going to do 10, so I was constantly trying to remember how many I'd done, how many still to do. Then he finished with his 8, I was on 6 but forgot how many I had to do, so instead of risking stopping at 10 which could have been 9, I added one more, and when I looked on Garmin later it was 11. Sooo, this week, I was by myself, obviously I had to do more than last week, so 11 was the plan. Then I decided one more wasn't enough, so 13 it was. Next block will be 15. For the same reason!
You did ask, didn't you?! G
