It was the name of my grandparents house in Carmarthenshire. Google Translate seems to be getting its knickers in a twist. It's suggested "House of the Lark", "House of the Woodpecker", "House of the Stork" and most perversely, "House of Licking". Can anyone help? Diolch yn fawr!

Cheeky’s Dad 14 Aug 8:31pm, 14 Aug 2024 5,654 posts	0 Cheeky’s Dad Wouldn’t ‘cottage’ be bwthyn? I live a couple of miles from Chirk - Y Waun in Welsh. Locally we’d translate that as The Moor but Heath would also work, if you are of a more poetic bent. So I’d say Moor House (or Heath House, if you prefer)
