Hello
I work for a company based over in Israel. A colleague over there is intending to come here with her husband on a walking holiday. She has mentioned the southern section of the Pennine way, and that they "We want to walk as much as possible in nature, passing through little villages only. We aren't really big city people".
I mentioned Hadrian's Wall as a possible, the middle section for sure would be "city" free. Also said about the Lakes but think that is more a series of day walks rather than one long route (I am happy to be corrected, used to go there a lot but haven't been back for a decade or so).
Any other routes I should be mentioning?
Thanks

I would recommend the Coast to Coast which is lovely for a variety of changing scenery. It was devised by Wainwright and it starts in the Lake District and then moves through the Yorkshire Dales followed by the North York Moors ending up in Robins Hood Bay.
You can easily camp or bed and breakfast along the way and (I believe) you can arrange to have your rucksacks transported if you don't fancy carrying them.
Alternatively the Pembrokeshire Coast path is a wonderful alternative if they would like a coastal route.

The LDWA website is a treasure trove of Britain's long distance paths. Though the major ones are all on www.nationaltrail.co.uk

If they prefer a less hilly walk and a bit of sea, the Norfolk Coast Path/Peddars Way is another. I recall that Wriggling Snake did this a couple of years back and wrote a series of blogs about it which were a good read (as they always are).
