Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I've had some of the Heck sausages and they're quite good.

The vegan Richmond Sausages have been well-received. My partner really likes those and isn't even vegetarian. He's a big fan of Beyond Burgers and I think they do sausages too. The main concern for me about barbecuing non-meat sausages and burgers is they tend to stick to pans so I'm not sure how well they will hold up on a barbecue.

The salads you have planned sound very nice.

Check why she has no dairy and eggs. Dried egg will trigger allergies or sensitivities!

For example: I can't have milk but can have eggs, and fermented milk like kefir and yoghurt is ok in small quantities.
Also: I don't tolerate gluten, but I can tolerate small, irregular doses of it.
Some people cannot have yolks but cope with whites...

Also, I and many of my clients don't tolerate meat replacement products because of additives and binders in them.
Home made falafels however... :)

No good for your guest, but I think that the LM mozzarella quarter pounders do well on the barbie. As do standard Quorn sausages. Oiled, seared, turned and turned again quite quickly and they are less likely to stick.

I also like pakora and samosas off the BBQ.

If she eats fish, quite a lot can be cooked on a barbie, either in foil or grilled.

Yes, we're fine for fish - no need to ask for fish suggestions in a veg(etari)an group!

I don't think it's an allergy thing as she's said she's flexible at barbecues and would be happy with whatever vegetarian sausages we have - but it would be no bad thing to get vegan ones. I just know that I'm almost always disappointed by any sausage which isn't Cauldron, so good to get other ideas. I think that the no dairy/eggs thing is in order to avoid saturated fat.

How about marinated tofu?

You could even make kebabs with it, peppers, pineapple and onion.
